A photobook on Sudbury Schools throughout the world
One physical result of the study trip will be a comprehensive photobook whose very creation is a tribute to the idea of participation so central to the Sudbury concept.
The photobook will not only contain a large number of the photos which I took during the trip, but also contributions from pupils, alumni and school employees. My aim is to let words and images work together to produce a whole which is much greater than its parts.
When it is complete, the photobook will provide not just an illustrated documentation of the situation in the schools, but allow the reader to experience the atmosphere and the differentness of these special places. The photobook is to serve as means of spreading this idea of a school based on trust, self-determination and co-determination. The book is inspired by these qualities and it will itself provide inspiration. It will be published in English and German.
