Information about myself
Monika Wernz
Pedagogue, Artist, Kinesiologist,
Founder member and Management Board member of Sudbury München e.V.
After 14 years gaining experience as a pedagogue, I obtained a further qualification as a kinesiologist following the Three In One Concepts method. After this, I started a pedagogic practice and developed projects for schools (including strategies for coping with stress)
Many years of experience and professional training in concentrational movement therapy and intensive encounters with many different healing and therapy methods represented further milestones on my way.
My first contact with the Sudbury school concept came in 2005.
With a great deal of enthusiasm, I plunged into the exciting world of democratic schooling. In the course of this time I have made intensive studies of very varied democratic schools, culminating in a study trip involving a large number of Sudbury schools throughout the world.
I found that getting to know more and more of the underlying school philosophy – with its emphasis, amongst other things, on self-determination, trust and self-responsibility – led me further and further along a path of inner development. During this journey I discovered a lot about my own doubts and fears, and after working through them I have found more freedom and confidence, can take on responsibility for myself and feel more able to develop my life in harmony with my inner motivation.
It is now my deep wish to disseminate the idea of democratic education, open up new possibilities and especially to inspire people in creative ways.
